Description
The ship that truly started the legend, the original Starship to bear the name "Enterprise NCC-1701."
She was the pride of the Empire under Captain James Tiberius Kirk
This is the Polar Lights 1/1000 scale kit.
Though it is a snap kit, this one was glued so that most of the seems could be filled
I briefly toyed with doing either a remarked "Defiant," or the "Constellation" before choosing to go ahead with "Enterpprise."
Rather than building the Federation's pride and joy, I opted instead to mark her as the pride and joy of the Terran Empire from the episode Mirror, Mirror.
Unlike the first version I did, I chose to primer this one in white to bring out the effects of the new decals.
To get the deflector grid, I used an enlarged version of some decals I had for a 1/2500 version of the Constitution.
What the decals didn't finish was hand drawn with a mechanical pencil
Except for a nacelle alignment problem, she turned out fairly well.
She's mounted on a rod that was inserted through the kit's baseplate and into a wooden base

Thanks....took a lot of work, and there's still room to improve.
Part of why I went with Enterprise instead of one of the others.
